A debate on quality and safety in healthcare

The main purpose of this blog is to encourage dialogue on quality and safety in healthcare. Too often, quality and in particular safety is a taboo subject. Lets begin to talk openly about issues and successes in healthcare quality.

I am passionate about this field of healthcare, so much so that I am currently writing up my thesis for the award of PhD. My thesis topic examines the multiple perspectives of safety in community care, from which, a safety measurement framework has been devised. It is envisaged that this framework might help organisations to more effectively measure and deliver better quality and safer healthcare.

I have a general interest in conducting research in health and social care environments. Please take a look at the blogs associated with multiple research areas. Because of my interdisciplinary background of medical science to health services systems in an engineering school, I am open to a variety of methodologies and approaches to research practice.

I am always looking to grow my research portfolio and if you think you might be interested in collaborating with me, please feel free to leave a comment.
